We would advise that patients continue to stay active whilst ensuring that they are following the guidance on preventing the spread of Coronavirus (Covid-19), as this is the single most helpful thing that can be done to manage pain in the longer term.

We would suggest starting with only one or two repetitions of each movement and gradually increasing as pain allows. If any exercise makes pain much worse, it should be stopped, continuing with other exercises and activities that are more manageable. Even gradually increasing the number of daily steps taken around the house will be helpful.
