Surgery Update Information

We are very much open and it is very important that you contact us if you feel you need to see a Doctor for any reason.  While a lot has changed we are still offering patients’ appointments Monday to Friday between 08:30 and 18:30.

From today – 1st September – our automatic FRONT DOORS are OPEN for Reception and Dispensary.

If you are attending the Surgery for an appointment or to collect medication you are requested to wear a face mask and on entering the building please use the hand sanitiser provided. You will need to enter through the front automatic doors and exit via the side door to the right of reception to allow one way moving of traffic. If there is any doubt you may have the virus you will be asked to wait outside or in your car and a clinician will call you.  We do this to protect ALL patients and staff and to keep the surgery safe. Clinical staff will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE ) .

Please note there are currently NO toilet facilities for patients.

What has changed?

All Doctors’ appointments are telephone triaged in the first instance. This means we will arrange for a Doctor to call you. If the Doctor feels you need to be seen they will arrange this with you directly or they may offer you a video consultation. They also have the facility to ask you to send photos if you have a rash that needs looking at, please mention this to reception when booking your appointment as they can send you a text link for you to respond to.

Reception are able to arrange Nurse/HCA appointments both in the Surgery and over the telephone for treatment that is felt necessary.

You will not be able to come in to the surgery if you have any symptoms of Coronavirus. If you do have symptoms of temperature/fever, new continuous cough, loss/change of sense of smell or taste and need to be seen about another health matter please speak with reception.

Blockley Surgery is temporarily closed. It will reopen once we are through this or feel it is necessary to reopen. If any patients have any questions or opinions regarding Blockley Surgery please do not hesitate to contact the Practice Manager.

Face Mask Exemption

Unfortunately GPs are not in a position to provide individual risk assessment or letters for patients who feel they should be exempt from wearing a face mask.

Those who have an age, health or disability reason for not wearing a face covering should not routinely be asked to give any evidence. Some people may feel more comfortable showing something, this can be in the form of a home made sign, badge or exemption card – please see the government website for copy templates.

We have staggered appointments so you will find the waiting area fairly empty, this is to enable us to meet social distancing requirements, if however this does become more crowded you may be asked to wait in your car for a clinician to collect you. Please try and arrive at your allotted appointment time to help us control footfall in the building.

Flu Clinics

We are not expecting delivery of our flu vaccinations until the end of September. To allow us to follow the COVID government guidelines we will be operating our flu clinics differently this year and will be appointment only. The Surgery will contact you to make an appointment, please make sure your contact details held including mobiles numbers are correct.

Dispensary / Prescriptions

If you need to speak to the dispensary we would ask that you send a message via this website or telephone the dispensary 01608 650317 option 2. We know they are busy but please call back if they are engaged. They take calls from 09.30–13:00 and 13.30–18:00.

If you are having difficulty collecting your medication or finding someone to collect it for you please mention this to the dispensary and we will try and help.
